Resources transitioned to other projects

After more than 4,000 songs released over the course of 275 consecutive weeks, weeklyRock Banddownloadable content will cease on April 2, Harmonixannouncedtoday.

Harmonix said the studio currently has “several” new titles in development, and that transitioning resources to these new projects is the cause for ending weekly track releases. However, content releases are still lined up for the coming weeks, including “the remaining tracks forRock Band Blitz, several Pro guitar upgrades, and a handful of artists who have not yet appeared inRock Band.”

“We’re incredibly proud of the DLC milestones we’ve set,” the announcement reads, “especially producing the largest music library of any game available, and we wouldn’t have been able to release as much outstanding content without the support of our amazing community.”

As a thanks to the community, Harmonix is going to continue its50 percent off saleon over 1,100 tracks, which includes music from Queen, Rush, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, System of a Down, The Police, The Who, and many more.
