You better buy this one!
Ninja Theory, developer of the recent, divisiveDmC:Devil May Cry, has a new trailer up onits websitethat chronicles its work during this soon to be recent generation. Spliced in is also a more mysterious project featuring a blue haired woman, which could be a glimpse of whatever new IP the developer is working on for next generation. The video ends with a “thanks for a kickass generation” note, which seems to imply, along with the rapidly approaching PS4 and Xbox One launch dates, that the unknown project is indeed for next gen.
The video serves as a nice remembrance for what the studio has worked on this console generation, with a small, sad counterpoint. Each montage features a Metacritic score awarded to the title in question. It is, I suppose, nice to track what can be seen as improvement, but it’s a sad reminder of things likeMetacritic-based worker bonuses. This is in turn a sad reminder of how poorlyEnslaved: Odyssey to the Westseems to have sold because it’s a phenomenal game featuring some of the best writing, as well as acting, of the generation.
Still, all seems well.DmC: Devil May Cryis in the can, much to the chagrin of many of you — personally, I dig the game for its gorgeous,Gravity Rush-styled aesthetic alone — and Ninja Theory seems to be back to creating new IPs. Warm’s the heart. Now comes the painful wait for something that can hopefully surpassEnslaved. Seriously, that game is fantastic, go buy a damn copy.
