Tyrone Rodriguezof Nicalis seems to be one of those guys that always has at least 10 projects going at one, and it’s anyone’s guess as to which one will be completed first. The only constant is that it always seems to come back toCave Story. He loves that game hard.

I also love that game hard, so you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be picking up one of these pixel-styledCave Storyfigures if and when the ever go on sale. For whatever reason, taking the minimal low-res sprite and forming it into a three dimensional sculpture feels more direct to me than going with a more literal, “realistic” style interpretation. Some will think it’s weird of me to have this in my house, but like I just finished ranting about, videogames and toys can be art. Adorning your home or office with a little piece of the videogame world feels just as legit to me as hanging a landscape painting or still life on your wall.
