I’m a bit of a sucker for collections of retro games, particularly when it comes to arcade titles since owning the original versions would be prohibitive from a cost and storage perspective. Majesco announced that they’ll be publishing a collection of arcade titles from Data East and the above trailer exists as evidence of the game’s impending arrival. Which likely means I’ll have one more such compilation on my shelf soon.
Data East Arcade Classicslooks like a decent group of games. I’m a big fan ofHeavy BarrelandCaveman Ninja(AKAJoe & Mac) and the kitsch-lover in me wants to be a bad enough dude to rescue the president. No sign ofKarnovin the trailer, the chubby Russian who served as a bit of a mascot for Data East back in the day, but otherwise this appears a solid selection.
The collection is scheduled to release in February with an MSRP of $19.99.
