Wow!

People have been anticipating the standalone version ofDayZfor a while now, and it appears as if that excitement has paid off.Last week we reportedthat the game had sold upwards of 400,000 in its first week, but that number has apparently already risen to 800,000 sold, which was “completely unexpected” according to creator Dean “Rocket” Hall.

The “roadmap” for the final version is apparently going to drop in mid-January, but these sales have had a “very positive” effect on the development cycle. I can’t wait to see where this game goes, as it’s been one exciting ride since it was just a niche mod.
