The Master Levels
Bethesda is set to release at least two post-launch DLC expansions for the upcomingDoom Eternal. While we already knew that developer ID Software waslooking at expanding the gamewith extra content, this latest nugget of info comes from a description for the game’scollector’s edition.
In now updatedlistings on Amazon, a promotional image mentions the “Doom EternalYear One Pass” and specifically notes “Campaign DLC 1+2.” While not as substantial, pre-ordering the game also nets you something called the “Master Level” campaign (a reference to the officially releasedMaster Levels for Doom II). Considering the naming of these content drops, I’d imagineDoom Eternalmight even see a second year of DLC beyond whatever is planned for 2020.
While I applaud ID Software for focusing in on what madeDoom (2016)so great, I just hope that all of this DLC winds up more likeRessurection of Evilinstead ofFinal Doom. It’s always fun to blast hellspawn to bits, but it would be nice for the quality level to remain high throughout.
