DuckTales Remasteredflaps onto the PlayStation Network, eShop, and Steam next Tuesday, August 13, but PS3 players will also have the option to wait an extra week and purchase aspecial boxed edition. It contains a download code rather than a disc, but for those who want to show off that sweet, sweet cover art and rock a collector’s pin, what’s a few extra bucks?
But why should the PS3 be given preferential treatment? Well, if therumorsare true, other platforms may also be getting a boxed version — or just the Wii U at least. OnNintendo’s info pageabout the game, a full-onDuckTales RemasteredWii U box is displayed. For typical digital-only titles, that image would instead show the game’s title screen with a banner below reading “Nintendo eShop Wii U Download.”
I was always planning on buying the PS3 box for my collection, but seeing as how I still don’t own a PS3, this would be a more cost-effective option. If it’s true, that is.
