Say Cheese…

One of the most enduring horror franchises to come out of video gaming is theFatal Frameseries, which began on PlayStation 2 back in 2001 and has seen numerous iterations since, the most recent being the 2014 Wii U releaseMaiden of Black Water.

But it seems series producer Keisuke Kikuchi isn’t done scaring the bejesus out of folks just yet, and would be interested in making a new title for Nintendo’s current flagship platform, Switch. “Yeah, I do want to make a Fatal Frame on Switch,” Kikuchi said in a chat withNintendo Everything.“I think it’d be a ton of fun to play with the console in handheld mode and moving all around.” noting that he’s always pleased to be asked about the franchise.

For those unaware,Fatal Frame,(known asZeroin Japan andProject Zeroin Europe), consists of a series of survival horror adventures that revolve around haunted locations, female protagonists and the Camera Obscura – a mythical device which can see apparitions and capture their spirit energy, preventing them from attacking the hero. This is the longest break the franchise has had between games, but it seems unlikely that the series is finished. After all, terror is timeless.
