Your save data fromFinal Fantasy 7 Remakedoesn’t transfer toFinal Fantasy VII Rebirthper se, but you do get some bonuses if you’ve played it. However, you have to claim them, and this is how you do it.

Before you even start a game, you can find the optionBonuseson the main menu. Scroll down and select it. You’re then given the options to check or skip. Given that you’re even reading this guide, you’ll obviously want to select “check.” The game will then scan your system’s hard drive for the needed data and unlock the bonus items.

Final Fantasy VII FF7 Rebirth Moogle

The data it is looking for is from theFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth Demo,Final Fantasy 7 Remake, andFinal Fantasy 7 Remake: Episode INTERMission(Intergrade). One important detail here is that you aren’t required tocompletethese games. You just need the save data on your hard drive. If you startedFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, but have no interest in finishing it before playingFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, I find that somewhat strange, but you’ll still get the bonus for it.

Another thing to note is that the saves have to be on the console itself. If you playedFF7 Remakeon PS4, you’ll need to transfer that save data to your PS5. Likewise, if you keep a squeaky clean drive, you’ll want to reobtain your save from the cloud before you scan. Again, I’m not here to question your lifestyle choices.

For posterity, here are the available bonuses

If you’ve already started a game and are just not becoming aware of how to unlock these things, you can still access the bonuses menu on the title screen and scan your hard drive. All these items are just available for selection once your drive has been checked and the save data has been confirmed.
