‘I can confirm there are no plans to bring [Halo 5] to PC’

The recent NVIDIA leak had a lot of folks in a fervor. In short, folks gained access to a massive GeForce NOW database dump, which had a large number of game titles on it, some of which have not been announced yet.NVIDIA told several outletsthat the list was “speculative” and incorrect, and now individual studios are disavowing names on the list: like Microsoft andHalo 5PC.

Speaking out on Twitterin response to the leak, community director at 343 Brian Jarrard issued a full statement:

Halo 5 PC

“Maybe this was for “H5:Forge” but I can confirm there are no plans to bring[Halo 5] to PC. We know there’s some demand for it, but as we’ve stated before, not in the cards as the studio is fully focused onInfiniteandMCC.Will never say never, but nothing underway currently.”

Well, 343 can’t really say “never” to their boss, because if Microsoft really wanted them to do it, they would have to. And if it was in development, even in the planning stages, he couldn’t confirm it directly. So that makes sense!

In any case, 343 might be a large studio, but they’re only one outfit. Being “focused onHalo InfiniteandThe Master Chief Collection” is a gargantuan task, especially given that they’re still making tweaks and updates to the latter on PC.

I mean, you know they’re probably going to re-releaseHalo 5at some point. We’re in the age of remasters and remakes, and Microsoft loves to bring back golden-era titles to pretty much anything it can, with forward-thinking backward compatibility (ha). They just need to finally getInfiniteout in the world to free up some resources, because whoa man the wait for that one has been lengthy.
