As you climbPEAK’smountains, you’ll notice that some items are more helpful than others. While food is crucial for survival, other items, like the compass and bugle, have more niche uses. The introduction of binoculars and a flying disk raises one important question: are these items useful?

Binoculars, in particular, are helpful in some situations. Although you may have to replace them with food or Mystical items later in your playthrough, they can, at the very least, provide some crucial information early on. Let’s find out exactly how to find and use binoculars inPEAK.

Where to find Binoculars in PEAK

Binoculars spawn right on the shore. As you climb out of your plane’s crash site, you’ll spot some binoculars on the ground near a compass and bugle. Although this spot may differ slightly with each new map, it’ll always appear at spawn.

Like otheritems inPEAK, binoculars take up an inventory slot. Although this won’t cripple you early on, your best bet is to either have a friend help you or use a backpack to carry additional items before starting your journey. Fortunately, binoculars have no weight value, so you don’t have to worry about losing out on stamina if you bring them along.

How to use Binoculars in PEAK

Once you pick up your binoculars, you can look through them and zoom in on whatever you’re looking at. This has multiple helpful purposes, from scouting a mountain for potential routes tosearching for capybaras in later levels. You can also use them to look for luggage bags, teammates, and food, depending on what you need at a given moment.

Overall, the primary purpose of bringing binoculars with you is to help you find landmarks and consumables that you’d usually struggle to spot. If you find route planning overwhelming, you can use this item to get a better idea of potential areas to explore or figure out spots to avoid. Similarly, if you played a map previously and only vaguely remember where a specific spot was, you can try to pinpoint its exact location by searching through your binoculars.

Can binoculars replace food, pitons, or rope? That depends on your circumstances. In later difficulty levels, you may opt to pick up a flare or extra food in preparation forPEAK’slast couple of levels. They’re worth trying out, though, especially if it’s your first attempt on a new map and you want to spend extra time planning out your run.
