One of the new additions to Fields of Mistria in the second major update is Sprite Statues. They’re farm tools, and while they’re useful to have around, using them is slightly complicated due to in-game mechanics.
Two new Sprite Statues were added in the update, both of which are incredibly useful, and well worth trying to get. If you want to know how to get them, or how they work, here’s everything you need to know.
How to get Sprite Statues in Fields of Mistria
To get the two Sprite Statues and their respective recipes, you’ll need to wait until you’ve reached floor 60 of the Mines andworked your way past the Fire Seal. During the cutscene after this,Caldaruswill give you access to a new spell called Dragon’s Breath.
The Sprite Statues themselves are located in two previously inaccessible caves, one in The Narrows, and one to the east of the Beach. You’ve likely seen them previously and wondered how you were supposed to get into them.
Once you’ve found one of the caves, use the Dragon’s Breath spell to break through the rock blocking the way.Dragon’s Breath costs two Mana to use, so you might want to verify you have some Mana Potions on hand so that you don’t have to wait days between casts, or otherwise use up all of your Mana.
As well as the Sprite Statue itself, you’ll also get a recipe to make more of them and a Small Essence Stone in each cave.
Animal Sprite Statue
The Animal Sprite Statue is located within The Narrows Cave, which can be found next to Errol’s house in The Narrows.
The Animal Sprite Statue works as an auto-petter and will negate the need to individually pet your animals each day when it’s placed inside a Barn or Coop. Using the Animal Sprite Statue is a great way to continuously increase your friendships with the animals on your Farm, allowing you to gain more worthwhile drops such as Golden cooking ingredients.
Water Sprite Statue
The Water Sprite Statue and its recipe are located in the Beach Cave, which can be found by swimming eastwards around the lighthouse on the Beach.
A Water Sprite Statue is, essentially, a sprinkler. When placed in crops, it will watercrops within a two-tile radius, so you can get on with other things and not worry about having to water them by hand. This is going to save you a ton of time every day, especially now that you canchange the game speed.
How to use Sprite Statues in Fields of Mistria
Neither Sprite Statue will work without the addition of Essence Stones. These are a new resource that were also added as part of the update, and you’ll need to complete the quest tobuild the Stone Refineryto get them.
Once you’ve built the Stone Refinery, you’ll be able to craft four different sizes of Essence Stones, each of which can power each Sprite Statue for a certain number of days:
To place an Essence Stone into a Sprite Statue, select it from within your inventory and then approach the Statue. You’ll be prompted to place the Stone into the Statue, and it will spring to life once the Stone is in place above its head.
You can check on your Sprite Statues at any time by interacting with them, and a prompt will appear at the bottom of the screen letting you know how long you have until the Essence Stone needs to be replaced.
