Final Fantasy XVIis a big game, and theEchoes of the FallenDLC makes it even bigger. This quest offers a plethora of new equipment and challenging boss fights, but newer players will need to wait a while before they can experience it.

Long story short, you need to be deep into the endgame ofFinal Fantasy XVIbefore you can playEchoes of the Fallen. Players will first need to reach the main story questBack to their Origin, which is the final main story quest in the game. This will makeseveralnew side quests appear all over the world, and you’ll need to complete the quests titledWhere There’s a WillandPriceless. If you meet these requisites, you can talk to Charon back in your hideaway and select the “Echoes of the Fallen” open when you talk with her.

If that sounds like a lot to remember, just keep completing sidequests andEchoes of the Fallenwill pop up eventually. You’ll receive a special notification when you unlock the DLC quest, and a unique icon will appear above Charon’s head.

Note:If you’ve already completed the game, you can load your clear data and return to your hideaway before the final battle.

How to unlock the Priceless quest

If you are looking to marathon this process, you should know that Priceless has a few prerequisites of its own to unlock. In addition to reaching the Back to their Origin quest, you’ll also need to first complete Where There’s a Will. So, technically, I guess Priceless is the only quest requirement to unlockEchoes of the Fallen. Hey, Square Enix officially states you need both, I don’t make the rules!

Additionally, you’ll need to complete the following quests to unlock Priceless:

What is the level requirement for Echoes of the Fallen?

Though you can fast track your way intoEchoes of the Fallen, you should know thatit’s some of the hardest content in the entire game. You have what it takes to beat it if you’ve come this far, but it’s a notable jump compared to what you’ve faced before.

You don’t need to be a certain level to completeEchoes of the Fallen. The level cap will increase by 5 once you have it installed, butI finished it on my first playthrough at around level 48. I’d recommend saving it for last on your sidequest list so you can power up and craft strong equipment to take it on. That said, if youreallywant to brute force it, you will get some great equipment and accessories for completing the DLC. I wouldn’t recommend this, but I can’t tell you how to live your life.

Echoes of the Fallenwill make Chronolith Trials much easier to complete, so if you want to save those for afterwards, knock yourself out. Otherwise, I’d recommend treating this DLC the way you’d treat optional superbosses in most other RPGs. Prepare yourself and have fun with it!
