The latest patch forHalo: The Master Chief Collection— which focuses on “ranking, matchmaking penalties, stability, as well as game-specific improvements for each title” — also confirms that progress on the remasteredHalo 3: ODSTis “on track”.
You might remember that whileODSTwas originally not included in the collection, 343i offered it as free DLC furtheras an apology to fansfor issues that swamped the game’s online and multiplayer functionality.
to get this free DLC, you’ll need to be an “online user” that played the game — or at least attempted to — between November 11 and Jul 20, 2025.
“Additionally, we’re excited about the progress of the Relic multiplayer map remake and the Campaign forHalo 3: ODST, both of which are on track to release withinHalo: The Master Chief Collectionnext month with our next content update,” says a post onHalo Waypoint.
“Look for more details next month, including the final map name for the Relic remake, release date and more.”
To hold us over, 343 also provided a handful of stunning screenshots in a selection ofwallpaper-friendly sizes.
As for the patch itself? Full details are on thewebsite update, but tweaks have been made to ranking, including a reset forHalo 2: Anniversary.
Campaign-specific issues are also being addressed, including that irritating bug that saw off-host players deal more damage in P2P combat inHalo CE, matchmaking modifications onHalo 2 Classic’sTeam Ball, and “significant” improvements to Halo 3’s audio and multiplayer stability.
Parties also have been tweaked to improve voice chat consistency, prevent lost chat connections at the end of the games, and a speed boost so that your roster populates more speedily whilst scanning your Friends List for potential co-op Spartans.
