It’s felt like the wait has taken forever, butMarvel Rivals’season two is finally set to arrive with a big expansion of content for the hero shooter.
Season two will add two new heroes, new maps, and a whole bunch of balancing to existing heroes and their Team-ups. And, of course, a whole slate of new, beautiful skins themed around the epic Hellfire Gala for players to wear on the battlefield.

Here’s what NetEase has revealed thus far about hero changes, additions, and more coming in season two.
New hero: Emma Frost (Vanguard)
Emma Frost joins the fight as a telepathic Vanguard who can change her body composition to organic diamond, hardening herself to nullify incoming damage. Here’s her full kit and ability information.

New and updated team-ups
Several team-ups have been tweaked, while others are being removed, along with the addition of new ones to take their place.
New maps: Krakoa
The mutant island haven of Krakoa will play host to the season’s new maps, which will be revealed soon.
New battle pass: Hellfire Gala
A new battle pass themed around the Hellfire Gala and its glitz and glam will take center stage, with several formal attire skins teased in the trailer, including Captain America, Wolverine, Cloak & Dagger, Star-Lord, Luna Snow, Black Panther, Black Widow, Bruce Banner, Magik, Psylocke, and more.
It’s currently unclear which costumes will be in the battle pass and which will be store offerings.
New skins, colors, and gifting
Popular costumes will get re-colors available to purchase, further advancing the game’s customization options. Costumes will also be giftable to friends via a new feature in the store.
New event: Cerebro Database
The first limited time event with pages of missions and unlocks is called Cerebro Database. Finishing the whole event will reward thefree Flora Maiden costume for Mantis.
Competitive play updates
Picks and bans will now begin in Gold III as opposed to Diamond III in the game’s ranked mode, the minimum level to play ranked is now 15, and more, such as skill points earned and lost being more reflective of individual performance.
The Competitive map pool is changing, as Yggsgard – Royal Palace and Tokyo 2099 – Shin-Shabuya have been removed, while Krakoa’s Hellfire Gala map is being added.
Graphics and settings on PC
A new graphical option on PC called Switch Shader Compilation Mode may help with memory usage, “especially on systems with 16 GB of RAM or less,” as it will only compile shaders the frist time you launch the game after an update or graphics driver update.

In season 2.5, which should launch in the middle of May,Ultronwill join the game as anew Strategisthero, along with other buffs and balance changes in the midseason update next month.
