It runs on Tuesday

Back in May, Monolith Productions executive producer Michael Forgey was diagnosed with a “highly aggressive” form of glioblastoma (brain cancer). His friends at Monolith are doing the best they can to ease the burden of this terrible news with afundraiser, in the hopes of lessening Forgey’s medical bills and providing security for his family.

Andy Salisbury, community manager for Monolith, detailed the aims of the fundraiser yesterday in aReddit post. “This Tuesday we urge you to playShadow of Mordor, stream your gameplay if you may, and spread the word using the #ForForgey hashtag.”

Of course, the hashtag is ultimately in service of the group’s fundraising effort. At press time, the #ForForgey YouCaring page has pulled in over $100,000 — a third of its ultimate goal. Funds raised through YouCaring are received in real time, according tothe site’s FAQ page, so the money you donate is all but guaranteed to reach its mark.

We wish Monolith luck with the fundraiser, and hope for a speedy recovery for Forgey.
