Hey everybody! It’s Saturday! Better yet, lets make itStaturday! LETS GO CRAZY FOR STATS!
GoNintendo has a crapload of stats from Nintendo’s recent fiscal report, and there are a few surprises there worth checking out. First off, over 70% of 3DS owners in Japan and the U.S. have connected their console to the internet. That’s around the same percentage of online-connected, Wii, 360 and PS3’s owners (at least as of 2010). That number is lower in Europe and Australia (closer to 50%). I’m sure the percentage of online connected 3Ds owners will go up worldwide after Nintendo putsNew Super Mario Bros. 2on sale as a downloadable title.
Speaking ofNew Super Mario Bros., we have some stats on Nintendo’s top Wii, DS, and 3DS sellers.New Super Mario Bros.on the DS is still near the top at 29.09 million units. It’s superior Wii equivalent lags behind a bit at 26.26 million.Skyward Swordseems to have done OK at 3.52, which is better thanOcarina of Time 3D‘s 2.61, but not quite up toTwilight Princess‘s reported +7 million (across GameCube and Wii). Maybe the game would have sold better if it had classic controller support? Did you or someone you know pass on the game because of the motion controls?
There are plenty of otherNintendo numbers, charts, and plans over at GoNintendo, though I’ve thrown a few of them in the post below. Lets celebrate Saturday HARD!
