Over20 million amiibo have been shipped worldwidein this past year. Despite the manufacturing issues and poor communication, Nintendo has done well for itself.

The margins are likely far more lucrative for theAnimal Crossing: Happy Home Designercards though, as 8.6 million individual cards have been sold to date — keep in mind that the game just launched at the end of July in Japan, and only in the past month in the west.
