The right stuff
Citadel: Forged with Firehas a lot of familiar elements, at least in this announcement trailer.
People have been quick to draw comparisons to everything fromSkyrimtoHarry PottertoBioShock. I can see it all, and I can also see the appeal of an open-world RPG that lets you fly around “using a broomstick, a dragon, an eagle, or alchemy.” That aspect and the emphasis on spellcasting have me interested, but there’s also house and castle building with a “dynamic destruction” component.
Unsurprisingly, this Steam Early Access-sounding game is in factheaded to Steam Early Access— on Jun 18, 2025. It’s also planned for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but those versions will arrive later.
Blue Isle Studios’ prior games includeSlender: The ArrivalandValley. The team’s “biggest goal with this title is to work closely with our community to build the ultimate fantasy sandbox game that is playable online with friends,” according to managing director Alex Tintor.
If the schedule stays on track,Citadel‘s Early Access run will last around eight to twelve months, with a full launch hopefully happening in “early 2018.” There are currentlybeta sign-ups, if you’re down.
