Riot celebrates 10 years League of Legendshas been around for nearly eight years now, but Riot was formed a decade ago. I know it’s hard for some people to grasp, playing a game for so long, but that’s just what I did withLeague, among several others. It’s a testament to the staying power of the MOBA and strategy genres, and the newly revealed numbers forLeaguesupport that. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Riot has announced that the game has 103 million monthly users — of course it’s free, but since a lot of those people spend hundreds of dollars on skins a month, I’m willing to bet there’s still a lot of profit involved....

With Special Guest Johnny Luchador After nearly a 20-year hiatus (we don’t talk about that XBLA version)Fire Prois back, in the form ofFire Pro Wrestling World. The game is in Early Access right now, but still has more options and customization than anything on the market. It truly is already a wrestling-sim fan’s dream come true, with much more to come on the horizon. Tonight at 6:00pm PST onDtoid.TV, we’ll be jumping into the game and going through some of the creation tools, downloading some wrestlers (I think there’s about eight billion in the Workshop now), and siming some amazingly intricate and entertaining matches....

It’s something the team wanted to do ‘since 2010’ Super Meat Boyis just one of those games. It was part of the digital indie revolution, in part because of how replayable it is and how much it holds up years later. A ton of people (myself included) are planning on picking it up yet again on the Switch too, which has finally been dated. Team Meat confirmed via Twitter that Switch port will be released on July 18, 2025, and it’ll bring a goodie with it....

I spentsome quality time with the gameat GDC this year and loved it, with the best part being the multiplayer action. Up to four people can team up to adventure together and take down monsters, and the required teamwork is what makes it so fun....

DanielBryan.gif Don’t Starveis a pretty fantastic game overall that’s been supported by many content updates anda large expansion— and now it’s getting multiplayer. Klei Entertainment has just confirmed that a free expansion will be coming called “Don’t Starve Together,” and it will be arriving in alpha form in summer 2014. In my mind this doesn’t take anything away from the core survival principle of the game, because it’s completely optional. If the current order of operations is correct, the PC will get the update as soon as it’s done, and the PS4 will get it a few weeks/months down the line (although no PS4 version has been confirmed yet)....

Also, Attack of the Friday Monsters, Shantae Defying all logic, Nintendo hasrandomly releasedEarthBoundfor the Wii U Virtual Console for $9.99 today. This classic RPG by developers HAL Laboratory and Ape was extremely hard to find legitimately, and cart prices skyrocketed into the $200 range for a used copy. But starting today, you may just download it for a cool ten bucks and utilize remote play, save state functionality, and all the other Wii U fix-ins....

So yes, if you’re familiar with GameStop’s tried-and-true method, they are bundling in games, accessories, and other “goodies” to an in-demand product. Earlier this week, GameStop had four $399.99 Nintendo Switch bundles available for pre-order online (with delivery to store an option) – as of writing, these bundle counts have ballooned to five offerings, with three at $359....

Hooded Horse has announced that Long Jaunt’s noble family management game,Norland, has reached Patch 26. This one might be the largest yet, as it adds family trees, new NPCs, and – perhaps most notably – an overhaul to the world map. Norlandlaunched into early access inkind of rough shape. The framework was there, but I found it to be unbalanced and required too much juggling to really enjoy. As I described it in my early access review, none of its facets have any time to breathe, leading to things breaking down....

First look on the PS4 Project Carsis coming out this November, and Slightly Mad Studios’ creative director Andy Tudorshared a first lookat the game on the PlayStation 4. Cars and tracks are exact 1:1 recreations of their real world counterparts.
