Crushing July 2017’s 40,000 record There was a time where it was up to individual server moderations to ban their own users, but when matchmaking and unified PC storefronts took off it became the wild west. Valve has been attempting to combat cheaters for years with its VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) technology, and in one fell swoop over 95,000 accounts were silenced (read: banned) last week. That crushes the previous record of 40,000 banned users last July....

Counting down until Halloween Journal Entry #1: We recruited a new member to our party today, but they’re a little… strange. We found them hanging out in a swamp eating frogs. At first, I thought it was an enemy, as their appearance startled me, but they seemed eager to join our team and we need all the help we can get. Let’s hope for the best! ~ The new recruit has turned out to be very useful in battle, although their tactics are rather unsettling....

Games on Gold Microsoft announced during their press conference this morning that they will start offering free games to Live Gold members starting next month. From now until the launch of Xbox One, members will get two free titles a month — not unlike Sony’s PlayStation Plus program. Nice. Some were concerned that these games might go away later during the transition, or as subscription status changes. Corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios, Phil Spencer, set our mind at ease during a showcase event earlier this evening....

Sackboy banana is a go PlayingLittleBigPlanetwhen it came out was a treat. The playerbase was flowing, level creations actually got some love, and the game itself was pretty fun, especially with a group. I’m glad that the series got at least three main entries and some spinoffs, but I’d really like to see it continued proper again on the PS5. PC “collect-a-thon” needs your money! One my most anticipated titles of the year.A Hat in Time,has just launched aKickstarter campaignwith a goal of $30,000. The game is a 3D platforming collect-a-thon for PC inspired by games likeMario 64, Banjo-Kazooie,andDonkey Kong 64. There are pretty much zero games that fit the genre on PC, and the genre as a whole has sort of died out recently. As far as Kickstarters go, game designer Jonas Kærlev has done exactly what I like to see: an informative video, a pie chart detailing where the money is going, and can show off gameplay enough to get me excited....
