PSA: Sir, You Are Being Hunted on sale for $4

Sir, we’re going to have to ask you to leave Sir, You Are Being Hunted, the “procedurally-generated British horror in which tweed-wearing robots hunt you for sport,” is on sale for$4 on Steamuntil Tuesday morning. It’s a lovely combination of terrifying and hilarious, like if the xenomorph inAlien: Isolationslipped on a banana peel before eviscerating you and also was British. I’ve not made it very far yet–it takes some working out–but love the tension and menace....

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries lets you move and shoot

This is the worst news I’ve read in a while. There isn’t much that separates theResident Evilseries from other third-person shooters these days. The one thing the series held true to over the years was its tank controls and “you can’t shoot and walk” routine. Non-fans of the games have complained about the series’ old-school sensibilities for a while now, and it looks like Capcom has finally given in to their whining....

Review: Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D, Tactic3D Omega

Creative is one of the world’s best-known brands of PC and gaming audio equipment. “Known” doesn’t always translate to “good,” though. I had an opportunity to check out their new Sound Blaster Recon3D external USB audio processor and their Tactic3D Omega headphones. Do these two pieces live up to the Creative name? Continue reading for the full review. I have been a fan of Creative’s products for quite some time....

Scarecrow bringing machine gun to DC Universe Online

Sony Online Entertainment has revealed that the rawboned villain Scarecrow will make an appearance in the upcomingDC Universe Online. The evildoer will be terrifying the streets of Gotham City with his petrifying, tattered looks and his special brand of “fear gas.” He’s also bringing a machine gun, according to these screens. I suppose when you’re a villain, firearms are always helpful. But I’d imagine that when you’re as horrifying to look at as this guy (and you can make people see killer clowns with some chemical fumes), it’s not exactly key to your arsenal....

Silly physics platformer Human: Fall Flat has a new level

First on PC, then consoles Human: Fall Flatis the kind of game I can return to year after year and still adore. Its physical comedy just cracks me up. The co-op puzzle platformerhas gotten a free new level, “Dark,” which is reason enough for me to dive back in. It’s out now on PC, with console owners getting the stage next year. Aside from an eerie theme, Dark revolves around magnets and electricity....

Smash Bros. will have different trophies for Wii U, 3DS

Here’s the Saria trophy from the 3DS version In an updateposted on Miiverse,Super Smash Bros.director Masahiro Sakurai talked a bit about trophies, noting that both versions “will boast different types and models. The 3DS trophies will be mainly from handhelds and the Wii U version will feature trophies from the home-console games.” Although I do get into achievement hunting from time to time, there’s simply no comparison to the way games used to handle this stuff....

Stories: The Path of Destinies is magnifique

You can go your own way Anytime I attend a trade show or convention these days, I walk away smitten with a new game out of Québec. It’s eerie, really. I don’t go looking for them; they find me, as if there were some sort of gravitational pull bringing us together. Or maybe there’s something in the water, I’ve thought, some sort of magic in the St. Lawrence bewitching the province’s studios and enchanting their games....

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword gets new screens

Here are some fresh screenshots forThe Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. They have swords and monsters in them, which is a refreshing change of the pace for the series. This game has been on the cards for so long that I scarcely believe it’s almost upon us. I’m still not quite as excited I should be, but I know that’s not going to last. Once I get all the brown military shooters out of the way, I am getting ready to jizz all over this....
