Warriors: Legends of Troy brings a beating in new screens

Tecmo Koei has been worryingly quiet when it comes toWarriors: Legends of Troy, the first M-rated Warriors game developed with Western gamers in mind. The title recently slipped to a March 8 release date, and I’m hoping that the delays and silence aren’t a bad portent. Here are some new screens and character art anyway, which show off the darker, more violent direction that this game is taking.Dynasty WarriorsandSamurai Warriorsare notably blood-free, providing a Teen-friendly experience in spite of all the deaths (tastefully called KOs) in them....

What do you love that everyone else hates?

Participate in this month’s Community Assignment Yesterday, our own Jonathan Holmes bared his soul to the world when he came to the defense oftripping inSuper Smash Bros. Brawl. Though his reasons were myriad and his motives sincere, after skimming the nearly 450 comments on the article, one thing became crystal clear: everyone hates what he loves. [Note: I know literally nothing about fighting games and don’t pretend to, and thus have no opinion on this topic or any other topic that stemmed from Holmes’ article....

Why does Capcom hate Mega Man?

The Blue Bomber deserves better I’ve always been a bigMega Manfan. As I type this, a figurine of series villainess Tron Bonne (see:mai waifu) is currently watching over me. There’s just something very unique about the series — the idea of not only defeating one’s enemies but also stealing their powers is something that always struck me as very, very cool. Thing is, it was once very easy to loveMega Man, when series developer Capcom was churning out a never-ending procession of adventures starring the Blue Bomber....

Wild: A non-floating Geodude is now a Japanese tourism mascot

I get that Geodude has more name recognition, but Graveler and Golem totally have legs Japan is overflowing withmascots. I wasn’t even prepared when I visited, as every activity and location, from warnings about creepy airport shadow denizens who steal your stuff to anti-littering campaigns, have creatures. Prefectures (districts) in Japan have their own location mascots too, and now Iwate (found on the northeast portion of Honshu, the “main island,” about two hours train ride from Tokyo) has an official tourism ambassador: Geodude....

Xbox streaming via Game Pass is actually available tomorrow

More than a month early The only real caveat is that the beta won’t have the full Xbox Game Pass streaming library. That’s expected to top 100 titles, but the beta is limited to 30ish games. However, Project xCloud is around until September 11, and it’ll seemingly keep its current lineup of games. For now, Xbox’s streaming library is split between the two apps — a little awkward but understandable — but it’ll eventually all merge together on September 15....

No word yet as to what the suit is about… but we can probably guess Disco Elysiumis widely regarded as one of the best narrative games of all time, and fans have been anxiously awaiting any news of a follow-up from its developer, Studio ZA/UM. Recently, however, there have been some internal issues with the studio, with the studio fracturing and many of the keyDisco Elysiumdevs “involuntarily” splitting from the company entirely, namely writer and designer Robert Kurvitz, co-writer Helen Hindpere, and lead artist Aleksander Rostov....
