Konami seems very eager to get theMetal Gearseries back into the spotlight, as evidenced by it porting some of the classic titles to modern platforms (with seemingly more ports still to come) and theupcoming remake ofMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. From rust bucket to top-bot Rising Thunderis an experiment I’m not quite sure about yet. On one hand, it seems to be custom made for me: an aging fighting game fan with a well-documented obsession with robots and a pair of cinder-block mittens for hands. A game that, theoretically, would let me compete without worrying about excruciatingly tight one-frame link combos and the kind of hand-pretzel torture required to keep up with the cutthroat fighting game crowd....

No, itwasn’tthe magazine pagefeaturing ginormous breasts. It was an poster on Facebook featuring its male equivalent — a close shot of Voldo’s ornate codpiece. Apparently, ludicrously out-of-context sexual imagery is perfectly fine until it involves a penis. Gotta love that sweet hypocrisy. By all accounts, the ridiculous ad featuring big boobs (described by myself as resembling two bald men headbutting) still has a green light from gamers and remains in circulation....
Last week, we heardrumorof a newCastlevaniaon the way for 3DS entitled “Mirror of Fate.” The latest issue ofNintendo Powerconfirms that rumor, yet it also indirectly confirms thatLords of Shadow 2is coming along as well. The full 3DS game’s title isCastlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate. Similar to howPower of Illusionhas ties toEpic Mickey 2, the events ofMirror of Fatewill lead toLords of Shadow 2.LoS2doesn’t have an announced platform yet, though it will most likely be on PS3 and Xbox 360 again, and quite possibly Wii U, I would assume....

Raid tombs on the next-gen consoles During VGX Square Enix unveiled a trailer showing the pretty graphics from the upcomingDefinitive EditionofTomb Raiderfor the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It looks really pretty, but it looks almost exactly like the original trailers for the game. Running at 1080p is cool, but the PC version can alreadyrun at 4k. This version is really for anyone that somehow missed playingTomb Raider, and those who want something that looks awesome to play on their new consoles....
