This time we have 40ish games, and several surprise releases thanks tothe recent Indie World Showcase. While it is worrisome that press still couldn’t go hands-on, Head of Global Communication onMetro: Last Light, Huw Beynon, assured us that the team is confident they’ve created “vastly superior sequel.” The game is about to approach Alpha status, meaning the game is playable from start to finish, and this gives the team time to polish things up for the new2013 release window....

It does look kinda pretty, though. Square Enix has unveiled a new JRPG for Nintendo’s new Switch console. Project: Octopath Travelerappears to combine traditional sprite-based artwork with three-dimensional backdrops and environments. Square Enix’s trailer for it also appears to show that the game will feature a turn-based combat system. It’s very likely that this game is fairly early on in development, as there’s not much else that’s been confirmed about the game....

Are you not entertained… again!? Gladiatorwas one of those seminal films that if you were the right age and saw it at the right time has stuck in your mind ever since. I was both at the right age and at the right time so the movie for me is one of my favorites from direction to score to performances. It is also a movie that doesn’t need a sequel, but here we are with Ridley Scott pushing forward for one....

PlayStation 5 has been Sony’s “most profitable generation” for its consoles to date, the company confirmed in a business meeting today. The PS5 has generated $136 billion in sales for Sony thus far, creating an operating income of $13 billion, both of which are an increase from the PS4, which generated $107 billion in sales and $9 billion in operating income. This also means that PS5 has been more profitable than PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4 combined....
