It’s Rage 2, my dudes It’s fittingRage 2‘s vision of post-apocalyptic life revolves around graffiti and brightly-haired punks who look as though they follow a strict “here for a good time, not for a long time” lifestyle. Everything about it seems punchier than its much-maligned predecessor, as though the upcoming first-person shooter is something closer to a renegade cousin to the id shooter than a formal sequel. And after spending some hands-on time with it at E3, I think there’s merit to that notion....

As one of the most popular survival horror franchises in gaming history, it’s not hard to imagine thatResident Eviltypically sells quite well. Still, it’s impressive to learn that the eighth installment –Village– has now surpassed 10 million units since coming out just over three years ago. A recent release fromCapcomsays that not only hasRE8hit this milestone, it’s also the fastest to achieve this across the wholeResident Evilseries. This also means that, as of July 24, 2025, the entire franchise has sold more than 157 million copies worldwide....

Risk of Rain Returnsis now out and about, and it comes with a suite of all-new characters for players to unlock. While their respective archetypes may well be familiar toRORfans fromRisk of Rain 2, each has a unique niche and unlocking mechanic in this game. In broader terms,Risk of Rain Returnsfeatures a hefty roster of 15 characters in total, twelve of whom veteranRORfans will remember from the 2013 original. Why can’t we be friends? Rustcan be a savage, unforgiving place, but with this week’s update, players will have just a little more breathing room. Facepunch has added the Compound, a scientist-run area that acts as a safe zone. There’s absolutely no weapons, killing, looting, or sleeping within its walls, and anyone caught breaking the rules will be designated as a hostile and gunned down in a scenestraight out ofRoboCop....

This narrative adventure arrives before the year’s out Somervillehas locked in a launch date, and it’s surprisingly soon. The sci-fi adventure is set to hit on November 15, for Xbox consoles and PC. Developer Jumpship dropped the release date in a new trailer today, confirming its November launch.Somervilleis set to arrive on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and is also coming toXbox Game Pass. This narrative thriller follows a family caught up in the immediate repercussions of an extraterrestrial conflict....

First look at the new upgrades. That are bees. Serious Samhas always been dumb, but dumb in the really fun way. The games are just about running about and shooting as many bad guys as you can in the most amusing ways possible. Like shooting bees out of a shotgun. In this first developer diary for the Xbox Live Arcade version of last year’sSerious Sam Double D XXL, we can see the new upgrade path for some of the base guns in the game and how they can be combined for different strategies....

Third crowdfunded DLC character is out now First, the not-so-great news:Skullgirls Encorewon’t be out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita until next year. Developer Lab Zero Games has “expanded the scope of the port and [is] adding new features with the aim of making it a better upgrade for fans and a better value for everyone.” Can’t be upset at that. A longer wait, sure, but worthwhile in the end....

Former King of Fighters devs and Nyu Media launch Indiegogo campaign A trio of formerKing of Fightersdevelopers have left SNK for greener pastures, going indie with a fighting game of their own calledYatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm. Developed over the course of six years on spare time and limited funds, the title is described as a “labor of love” that takes inspiration from the likes ofStreet Fighter III: Third StrikeandBlazBlue. The team has partnered with doujinsoft publisher Nyu Media to localize and promote the title in the final throes of development....

Think they’ll meet this goal? Speaking at their Tokyo Game Show press conference today, Sony President Andrew House stated that they plan to sell 5 million PlayStation 4 consoles by fiscal year end, or March 2014. Sony aimed to sell 6 million PlayStation 3 consoles back in 2007, but fell short and sold 3.6 million units back then. Something tells me though that they’re going to meet their targeted goal this time around....

Well then… We’re definitely getting Spawn and Heihachi inSoulcalibur II HD Onlinefor Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, which is terrific to see. No complaints there. Thing is,The Legend of Zelda‘s Link is the character wereallywant to see come back — and there’s no Wii U version of the remaster in the works, currently. What’s a fan to do? GamesRadar was told by the game’s developers that, with enough demand, a Wii U version could happen....

Bringing that ’90s edge It may not be at EVO 2020, butMortal Kombat 11is unquestionably one of the biggest titles in the fighting game genre. It’s sold millions of copies and over the weekend, it was the focus ofa mostly audience-free Final Kombat tournament. Not only did spectators online get to see the best in the world duke it out in gaming’s deadliest fighter, but they also got their first look at the last Kombat Pack character in action....

Following an article in last week’s issue of Japanese game magazineV Jump, Square Enix have officially announcedFinal Fantasy Legends, a new mobile phone game by theFinal Fantasy IV: The After Yearsteam. Normally, a Japanese mobile phone game would only be interesting toFinal Fantasy‘smost hardcore fans, but remember thatThe After Yearseventually made its way, fully localized, to North American and European WiiWare. The new game’s full title,Final Fantasy Legends: Hikari to Yami no Senshi(“Warriors of Light and Darkness”), is enough to evoke the kind of game we’re talking about here: four (probably nameless) characters, some crystals, some light, some darkness, and a Firaga spell....
