End of an era, if so All good things must come to an end…is the exact phrase I was thinking when reading over Masahiro Sakurai’s newest Famitsu column,as reported by ryokutya2089. In case you’ve missed it, Sakurai has been contributing to a Famitsu column for nearly 20 years, dishing out inside info and insights into the development process of theSuper Smash Bros. series.He’s able to get fairly frank in these articles(within reason), and provide a window into his mind in a fireside chat sort of way....

Finally Man, I’m glad my e-Reader still works. For those of you who think I’m speaking gibberish, the e-Reader was an accessory Nintendo developed for the Game Boy Advance, and it was actually one of the first forms of DLC. Players would buy cards, which could then be read by the unit to unlock specific features for games (or levels). Since most of the content was ancillary and Nintendo games felt like full experiences at launch, it wasn’t really an issue....

+1 for transparency Valve has launched a new section on Steam calledEarly Accesswhich better organizes “games that evolve as you play them, as you give feedback, and as the developers update and add content.” You’ll find familiar names likeArma 3,Prison Architect, andStarForge. Going one step further, “early access” games feature a hard-to-miss disclaimer and developer blurb on their individual Steam pages. Hopefully, the added transparency will lessen confusion for folks who still aren’t used to seeing alphas and the like on the platform....

Dominionis an immensely popular deck building adventure that’s been a hit at the game night table since its release in 2008. The simple yet strategic gameplay and wacky medieval theme, along with the opportunity to curse your friends and family, has won over many.
