According to Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley, its latest massively multiplayer online game,DC Universe Online, is flying off shelves faster than a speeding bullet.
“Working on out-of-stock problems for [DC Universe Online],” hetweets. “It’s our fastest selling game ever.”
Of course, we don’t have the solid numbers to back that claim up, and we likely won’t until next month. But it should be noted thatDC Universe Onlinehas topped the Steam charts for last week, so that’s something. The game is currently sitting at number two; it’s sandwiched betweenDead Space 2(at number one), which launches tomorrow, and a discountedDead Space 1($6.80!) at number three.
But coming from the company responsible for theEverQuestphenomenon, “fastest selling game ever” is a bold statement, for sure.
