While theunholy marriage of Activision and Bungiewas met with terror and confusion by the vast majority of gamers this morning, at least one entity is rubbing its metaphorical hands together with glee. That entity would be Sony, now finally able to get its talons on a Bungie property.

Sony isn’t shy about hyping up the prospect, either, declaring that putting a Bungie game on the PS3 would be akin to givingHalosteroids — essentially saying that the black box o’ Blu-ray will make Bungie’s games far better than they ever could be on the Xbox 360.

“Congrats to Bungie,” beams Sony. “Marrying their creative minds and incredible talent to the power of PS3 will be like giving PS3 fansHaloon steroids.”

Wow. Bold words indeed, and a good way of hitting home this bizarre reality that Bungie’s games are destined to appear on the PS3. Still quite a weird concept to grasp, despite the fact we all knew Bungie was distancing itself fromHaloand exclusivity. It’s definitely been an odd day.
