We all know that interest inStarfieldhas been waning, with an unfortunate decline in people playing Bethesda’s new IP. Still, the developer is determined to keep the metaphorical motor running, and the latest update for the game is now out in Steam Beta.
One thing to note about thepatch notesis the sheer number of “fixes” that have been implemented. In fact, in a recent post on The-X-Formerly-Known-As-Twitter, version 1.10.30 ofStarfieldhas over 400 things that have been fixed. Bethesda games, amirite? Also, just to reiterate: this is just for Steam Beta. The final patch will be rolling out for PC and Xbox sometime after.

Some other things that have been added in the new update: new camera mode expressions, support for changing FOV in “3rd Person Ship view,” autosave when fast traveling back into orbit, and some general quality-of-life improvements.
What about some new content?
Hundreds of fixes are obviously a good thing, but a lot of people will be more interested in some new content for the game. We’ve recently gotten wind that theShattered SpaceDLCcould be arriving soon. That might see an uptick in general interest.
We all know the story. It hasn’t been the best trajectory forStarfield. At the time of writing, there are just over 4,000 people playing on PC, according toSteamDB. For comparison, over 15,000 people are inSkyrim: Special Edition. That’s not a great look, to be honest.
Look, pretty much all games have their slumps. They release, get a lot of attention, then take a bit of a dive. T’is the way. But for what was easily the most hyped game of this generation,Starfieldsure has taken quite the nosedive.
