A lot of people will be Street Fighting
The latestStreet Fighterhas been out for just shy of a month now, and it sure seems like it’s caught on. The current number of Evo registrants seems to back up this popularity too, as the tournament organizer confirmsStreet Fighter 6is breaking both franchise and all-time Evo player count records.

Evo doesn’t share how many players that is. But if we’re judging by theprevious record countofStreet Fighter Vat Evo 2016, that’s over 5,000 registrants.

Back in the saddle again
I have to admit, it’s nice to seeStreet Fighterthriving like this. Sure,Street Fighter Vdeliveredsomepretty great setsover the years. But it always felt likeSFVcouldn’t get out from under its launch state.
Meanwhile,Street Fighter 6has beenan absolute grand slam. As Moyse put it so well,Street Fighter 6is “a title that radiates excellence.” And the players have been showing up, too. Alongside the big Evo numbers, this last week’s CEO—where MenaRDtook the top spotwith both Luke and Blanka—alsotallied up a tonof entrants.
Safe to say thatStreet Fighter 6has made its impact on the scene. I’m curious to see what these numbers look like moving forward, after the launch year luster wars off. But this year’s Evo debut forSF6promises to be a big one.
