You’ve playedGravity Bone, right? If not, you really should. It’s the kind of game you don’t get to play very often. Until, that is, the same creator makes a sequel and releases it unto the world.Thirty Flights of Lovingis that sequel, and it’s now out on Steam for five dollars.

Touted as a first-person “short story,”Thirty Flights of Lovingwill make you realize just how terrible other games are at storytelling. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous of Brendon Chung’s ability to tell such a smart and intriguing story in 15 minutes that most games have a hard time tackling over an eight-hour campaign. I think the word I’m looking for is “distilled.” It’s a distilled experience that in no way suffers from its brevity. After playing it,I don’t think I’ll look at storytelling in games the same way ever again.
