What can you say you accomplished in 10th grade? Me? Not so much: I beat a lot of RPGs, flirted with girls, and played piano for lunch money. Toronto 10th grader David Hu reminds us how much time we wasted in school as he’s currently showing off his new gameWarPongatX07.
Microsoft’s XNA Game Studio is a hobbyist game development package that lets developers make games for both Windows and Xbox 360, and Hu did just that withWarPong, earning the privilege of showing off his work on the show floor of X07. Microsoft must be pretty proud to say that a 10th grader was able to make a dual-platform game using these tools — that just screams “accessibility.”
It’s not thatWarPongis a blockbuster title or anything (see footage above), although it does look like a lot of fun. It has more to do with showing off the capabilities and possibilities of XNA, and how the results can be playable on two popular platforms.
