Also: N7 Day is a thing, apparently?

Apparently November 7 is a day for all thingsMass Effectthat EAreallywants to get off the ground. Think of it like May 4 is forStar Wars, except only really BioWare pays attention to it.

You see, the joke here is that Commander Shepard’s official designation is N7, and November 7 kind of looks like N7 if you squint. Hence a shameless marketing day for BioWare! Hooray!

Except it looks like even it isn’t quite as involved in the day as it could’ve been, as it has confirmed there will be no new announcements or news about the upcomingMass Effect: Andromeda.

Ina blog postoutlining the many fun things going on on N7 Day, BioWare confirmed that the one thing people would be interested in isn’t actually happening:

Battlefield 6 aiming RPG at a helicopter

“And while we won’t have any major announcements forMass Effect: Andromedathis N7 Day, keep an eye out on Saturday for some surprises that we’re sure you’ll enjoy.”

I’m not entirely sure what surprises there could be that are: a) good enough to really care about and b) are not considered “major announcements” for the newest game that people have been avidly awaiting. Still, I suppose that’s the whole point of a surprise.

But if you’re upset about this news that there won’t be any news, then fear not! you may still partake in the day bybuying someMass Effectmerchandiseif you really want to. And… I don’t know… tenderly rub the cheek of some Garrus fanart or something? I don’t know what we’re meant to do on N7 Day. Bake a cake?
