The Outer Worlds 2 release date and window
At the time of writing,The Outer Worlds 2has only been confirmed for a 2025 release window. Given how we’re getting a proper showcase for it in June (which will dive into story and gameplay details), we can surmise thatThe Outer Worlds 2will only come out in the second half of 2025, likely as a Fall title.
For now, though, we have the Xbox Games Showcase andThe Outer Worlds 2Direct to look forward to. This double feature will kick off Summer Game Fest in June. You’ll be able to catch the presentations on Xbox’s officialTwitchandYouTubechannels on June 8, 1pm ET. What platforms will The Outer Worlds 2 be available on?
The Outer Worlds 2will release on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. It was initially announced as an Xbox-exclusive title in 2021, but a trailer shown at The Game Awards featured the PS5 logo at the end, confirming that it’ll be a multi-platform release.
Just like its predecessor,The Outer Worlds 2is played from the first-person perspective. You’ll spend most of your time talking to NPCs, doing quests for them, and probably shooting a bunch of enemies. If Obsidian’s track record is anything to go by, you’ll likely also run into branching narratives based on the decisions you’ve made throughout the story.
